Land Acquisition & Management System for Trident Group - LAMS Case Study
CyberSWIFT implemented a customized Land Asset Management System (LAMS) designed specifically for Trident Limited’s business requirements. The solution enabled seamless integration of land records, GIS maps, lease management, and survey operations under one unified platform.
Client & Project Introduction
Trident Limited, a USD 1 billion Indian conglomerate headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab, is a global leader in home textiles and the world’s largest terry towel and wheat-straw-based paper manufacturer. With operations across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, the company faced challenges in managing its extensive land assets—ranging from fragmented ownership records and lease management issues to limited GIS visibility and reliance on physical documents, which hindered efficiency and decision-making.
Trident Limited manages a large land bank spread across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh for its textile and paper manufacturing facilities. Managing these land assets manually led to multiple operational challenges:
- Lack of a centralized platform to track land ownership, purchase history, and utilization.
- Difficulty in managing lease records, including payment schedules and renewals.
- Limited visibility of GIS-based land maps, making it hard to analyze property boundaries and assets.
- Inefficient tracking of survey activities, approvals, and status updates.
- Dependency on physical documents, leading to risk of data loss and delays in decision-making.
To address these challenges, Trident Limited decided to implement a comprehensive Land Asset Management System (LAMS) to digitize, centralize, and streamline their land management operations.
CyberSWIFT implemented a customized Land Asset Management System (LAMS) designed specifically for Trident Limited’s business requirements. The solution enabled seamless integration of land records, GIS maps, lease management, and survey operations under one unified platform.
- Dashboard: A comprehensive dashboard was developed to provide real-time visibility into the company’s land assets across locations, showing total land status (owned and leased), state-wise distribution for Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, company-wise allocation for textiles and paper divisions, and a composite view combining all land-related KPIs in one place.
- GIS Map: An interactive GIS-based map interface was integrated to visualize and analyze land parcels, featuring plot and village boundaries with cadastral overlays, property and asset locations such as plants and warehouses, real-time measurement tools for area and distance, and advanced query options for searching by survey number, village, or property ID.
- Land Management: A centralized repository was created to manage all land-related data and documents, including total land area, purchase details, registered deeds, valuation records, and digitized legal documents for easy access and financial planning.
- Lease Management: An efficient system was developed to manage leased land assets and payment schedules, featuring a lease agreement repository, automated payment tracking, renewal alerts, and real-time status reports for compliance and continuity.
- Survey Management: A streamlined system was implemented for managing land surveys and field verification, enabling task assignment, in-platform survey approvals, and structured data management through hierarchical mapping from state to location.
- Centralized Land Data Management - All land-related details consolidated into a single digital platform.
- Enhanced Decision-Making – Real-time dashboards improved visibility for top management.
- Operational Efficiency – Automated workflows reduced manual intervention and errors.
- GIS-Enabled Visualization – Accurate spatial insights into land distribution and asset locations.
- Improved Compliance – Ensured timely lease payments, renewals, and regulatory adherence.
- Seamless Document Access – Easy retrieval of purchase deeds, agreements, and ownership certificates.
With the implementation of LAMS, Trident Limited successfully transitioned from manual land records to a digitized, intelligent, and centralized land management ecosystem. The solution enhanced operational transparency, optimized land utilization, and empowered management with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
