Land acquisition and litigation management involve intricate processes, from proposal filing to possession, with numerous stakeholders. Efficient management demands a robust monitoring system. Century aimed to develop a Web-based GIS & MIS application to track workflow, process flow, and information related to land owners. The system needed to cover aspects like land acquisition, litigations, court cases and encumbrances.

The envisioned application was expected to facilitate ongoing/closed court case tracking, allowing the entry, updating, and monitoring of case-related information. The platform also aimed to assign cases to lawyers and provide status updates. The inclusion of a mobile application was crucial, enabling users to input data from smart devices and send it directly to a central server via mobile networks, creating a comprehensive and easily accessible database.

Our Solution

To meet Century's requirements, we proposed the implementation of the Land Acquisition Management System (LAMS). LAMS, a dynamic Web-based GIS & MIS application, offered a centralized platform for hosting land and asset information. The system's interactive map allowed for a macro to micro-level monitoring of activities from pre-land acquisition to post-land acquisition.

The web application, complemented by a mobile version, streamlined litigation and court case-related processes. Custom-made software for smart devices facilitated data entry, contributing to a vast and efficiently managed database. The integration of GIS and MIS into a single platform empowered users with predefined and customized query execution and search options. The software provided an overview of the working area, displayed plots on the map, and incorporated various government records related to plots.
